I have already discussed in my blog how the philosophy of Pragmatism has contributed to our nation's tendency to measure science by money, and suggested measures to fix it in the UWM. http://people.uwm.edu/nosonovs/2018/08/21/do-we-need-an-epistemological-bang-for-the-buck/ In the "analytic vs. synthetic" scale, English is the most analytic European language. This means, for example, that English nouns have no grammatical cases. Consequently, English speakers can hardly distinguish such nuances as subject vs. object vs. predicate for words outside of a sentence. Historically, this could lead to various materialistic theories, including the modern Scientism. Money is the most materialistic thing, and it is not surprising that in America many people find it natural measuring scientific accomplishments by money.
Ну, я конечно, пытаюсь сказать при этом: университет - говно, наука вашa - фуфло, да и сам ваш английский язык - дрянь. Не слишком ли это высокомерно?
