WAR IN IRAQ AND THE EMERGING THREATS OF THE 21st CENTURY
The United States is currently spending almost $6 billion per month on the war in Iraq and $1 billion per month in Afghanistan. We have a responsibility to the global community to uphold the commitments we've made; however, we also have a responsibility to protect our troops, our national security, and important programs here at home. We need to reevaluate how we are allocating our resources, and adjust our military strategy for addressing the emerging threats of the 21st century. As your United States Senator, Josh Rales will push the Bush administration to develop a realistic plan for handling the war in Iraq and a timetable for bringing our troops home.
• Josh will support efforts to work with our allies around the world to develop strategies to combat the proliferation of WMD.
• Josh will fight for funding that will provide our military and our domestic first responders with the equipment they need to do their jobs properly.
• Josh will focus on reallocating critical resources to fighting the war on terror and defending our homeland.
• Josh will advocate moving away from Cold War military strategy and foreign policy, and developing a plan that will address the new threats and enemies we face in the 21st century
